The Point in Paddington Basin Trench Heating Supply and Install
BGP Services Ltd. Floor Trench Casing was chosen on the ten-storey office development, known as ‘The Point’ in Paddington Basin.
The choice to use BG Perimeter to supply and install the Trench Heating was made by the Architects, Terry Farrell and Partners, M & E Consulting Engineers, Battle McCarthy, M & E Contractors, Meica, Project Managers MACE, and Contractor Bovis Construction. BG’s Trench Heating works in conjunction with a Chilled Beam System.
BGP Services Ltd., based in Camberley, Surrey, manufacture in their works, a full range of LPHW and Electric Trench Heating, Perimeter Heating and Fan Coil Enclosure Casings, backed by BSRIA tests. Along with their sister company Alpha Radiant Systems Ltd; they also produce Radiant, Heating and Cooling Panels for hospitals, prisons, schools, sports halls and libraries.
Having traded for almost thirty years, many prestigious projects have been executed, notably in the eighties, when their successful projects included Trench/Perimeter at Heathrow Terminal Four for British Airports Authority and DSSR M & E Consultants. More recently, specialized secure Perimeter Casing on the Mental health Hospital at Prospect Park Reading has been installed for Kierbuild, with DSSR again as M & E Consultants.
Eddy Warren of Supaflex, BGP Services Ltd. agent for North London, who dealt with the project said ‘these are exciting times for Chilled Beam working with Floor Trench Casing’ Supaflex are also agents for the Quartz, Chilled Water division of Marstair. The technological advance of active Chilled Beam design by Marstair Quartz includes the introduction of the Chilled Beam Cassette, which can handle condensate. The Chilled Beam Cassette also has a high system cop, low noise and can either be integrated into the false ceiling design by the ceiling manufacturers or use the standard facia, which will suit both Architects and M & E Design Engineers alike.
